Fruit of the Spirit (LOVE)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self control; against such is no law. Galatians 5:22, 23
The one feeling that does more to add meaning, fullness, zest and satisfaction in our lives is love. He that loves most lives the most. Without love there is an aching void that can cause misdirection and disappointments. It is obvious that love is lacking in our society today.
Love is that satisfying and rewarding quality that is needed throughout the world. Love is the bond that brings together and reconciles discord and unsettled society and coverts them into beautiful harmony. Love is the very word picked by the Holy Spirit to describe God.
God is love 1 John 4:8
It’s no wonder that Love is at the top of the list of the fruits of the Spirit. Love is the highest and worthiest virtue. The more you love the more you live. All of us know people that have no Love in their heart. It’s a sad and lonely existence. Let us allow love to manifest itself within us. It’s important that this world sees the greatness and power of love. Love can bring new sight to old eyes. It can see the best in a person. It’s important that we look through the heart lenses of love.
But now abide in faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
My friends, let’s remember the importance of having love in our lives. It’s simple, it’s powerful and it’s available to all if we open our heart to God and allow it to grow.
Thank you for joining me on this “Fruit of the Spirit” journey. Check back next week when we will cover “Joy” and the importance of sowing happiness in our lives!
I hope this message blessed you today!

Fruit of the Spirit (JOY)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self control; against such is no law. Galatians 5:22, 23
Despair and sadness has no home in our Christian faith. Yet so many Christians walk around down-trotted and frowning which gives our faith a bad reputation. It’s difficult to be optimistic and cheerful in view of all that is going on in our world today with loss of jobs, a broken economy, sky-rocketing prices, foreclosed homes, etc.
Like the wind that blows in every direction so does trouble. It is ongoing and blows in and out of our lives. We might not be able to change how the wind blows, but we can adjust the sails. We can either adjust or be broken and miserable.
We need to adjust our circumstances. Much easier said than done, right? Wrong! It is through the Holy Spirit that the adjustments are easier to make. Trusting God gives us hope and strengthens us. Psalm 28:7, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.” When we remember that God is with us, we have the hopefulness to make the changes to meet the challenging circumstances in our lives.
This joy is much more than an outward of pleasantries. It is the greatest quality of living which is from the fruit of the Spirit. Trust God when trouble does come. Meet each challenge as they come as best you can. The best way to be prepared is by living fully today.
Joy is the perfect medicine when we are ailing. Joy enhances our health and adds days to our lives. Our attitudes affect our health. What a great way to improve your life, your health and just be a better YOU, by allowing Joy in your life.
“A merry heart doeth good like medicine.” Proverbs 17:22

Fruit of the Spirit (Peace)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self control; against such is no law. Galatians 5:22, 23
“Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 24:13
I have been pursuing peace practically all my life. Overwhelmed with worry and fear is all consuming and draining. How does one find this “peace” that God talks about? Peace is something we attain on purpose. It does not happen accidentally. It must be pursued.
This particular bible verse says it all in just a few words:
“And to make your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business and work with your hands, as we commanded you.” 1Thessalonians 4:11
Quietness and peace go together. The quiet person is able to work out differences and achieve peaceful solutions. The prideful and haughty only brings strife and discord.
“To do your own business” - means to mind your own business. This is an excellent rule for staying out of trouble. We all have enough going on in our own lives without meddling and probing in other people’s business. This is practical and relevant advice. It admonishes the eavesdroppers, busy-bodies, gossipers and know-it-alls who are quick to give opinions when not asked.
Work—is a simple word with big rewards. We work to have those things needed to survive. By working, we save ourselves from idleness. Doing nothing is unfulfilling and unsettling which can sometimes lead us to trouble. There is value in making a living, looking after your own business and doing good .
It is wise to involve God in every aspect of our lives. God wants us to have peace of mind no matter what the circumstances are. Strive to be a positive influence. When we reach deeper for Him and rely on His words, we are building a foundation that cannot be shaken!
“Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John14:27
