My Newest Hero! Carrie Prejean
Watching beauty pageants is not one of my pastimes. I don’t like to see half-naked women prance around the stage talking about world peace. However, I was disappointed that I missed this particular pageant when I heard about the young woman, Carrie Prejean who stood up to her beliefs and did not compromise her answer for the sake of winning the crown.
Wow! I applaud her for not giving into the “politically correct machine” and honestly answering the question the way her heart told her too. She gave courage to a lot of other people to stand behind your beliefs. She stood up to the political monster and though it may have cost her the crown, she walked off the stage with her self respect and dignity.
I think most people agree that Carrie Prejean was the true winner that night. For me, this is not about being gay or not, it’s about fighting the political bullies and allowing God’s light to come through and be heard.
Carrie Prejean you are amazing!
