      Jealousy

I struggle with jealousy myself.

As I get older, I realize that

I get less offended and less jealous.

However, there are still those people

that provoke me that I’m still having

the most trouble with.  This person

at times, really works at pushing the right buttons to get me worked up in jealousy.  But even the resentment I carry within myself has become less and less offended.  I finally realized that I am a hundred percent responsible for my own feelings.

Jealousy comes from our flesh and can lead to unhealthy comparison of someone else’s success.  As we realize how this feeling corrupts various aspects of our life, we start to notice that WE have a big problem.  Jealousy can bring about illness and cause emotional turmoil, among several other things.

Recognize jealousy’s destructive consequences and you may find that it helps you start to indentify internal problems.  Focus on what God is doing in your own life.  His plans for you are just as big and important as His plans for the person you envy.  Once you let go of the jealousy, a deep contentment will replace the bad feelings and renew your soul with good.

Make a list of all the blessing God has given you.  Carry it with you wherever you go.  Each time you remember one of God’s blessings add to your list.  You’ll be amazed at just how blessed you truly are!
