Christian Encouragement, Inspiration, and Uplifting Women to be the Women God intended from them to be. |

Did you know that you could do all things through Jesus and Jesus Christ alone? He is the name above every name. I never knew that growing up. Boy, would I have loved to have Jesus in my childhood as my Lord and Savior.
During my childhood, encouragement was lacking in my life. I didn’t have much praise growing. I was always held back for some excuse or was singled out because I was Mexican. I remember as a child back in 1976 when my parents were trying to sell our home to move to a better place. One afternoon, we went out for the day to spend some quality family time together. When we returned home, we found our front yard destroyed and the “For Sale” sign smashed in. All I remember feeling was anger and frustration of trying so hard to please my neighborhood. No matter what my brothers or I did to encourage new friendships, we were somehow picked on or ridiculed. I grew up meek and afraid of not being accepted.
In school, I noticed some teachers would pay more attention to other children. I thought something was wrong with me. In the beginning of a new school year, I remember walking in front of the school with a classmate. This classmate (who I will call Sally) saw a teacher leaving the parking lot. When we approached her car, this teacher was excited to see Sally and gave her great compliments on how much she had grown. I leaned next to her car door and began to tip toe to gain some height hoping she would notice me too. This teacher said nothing. I felt as if, in that moment, I did not exist. She made me feel as though I was not worth talking to.
School was a challenging time for me. I did not receive the help that I needed because my parents did not know English. I fell behind in school and had to repeat the second grade, which embarrassed me. One time a teacher sat me in the corner of the classroom and placed a dunce cone on my head! I remember feeling hurt and scared. I was very shy in class and was afraid of raising my hand for fear that I may say the wrong answer. I admired my classmates that knew how to read and how smart they were. I wanted so much to be like them. I longed to do well like the other kids, but I just didn’t know how. In my mind, I thought some people where just fortunate to be born smart. I wished I could have been that lucky.
My childhood would have been different if Christ had been in my life. I can now say, “Praise God for what He allows in peoples lives! Praise God!” It was a tough process that I had to grow up in. I now see why the Lord allowed certain things to happen in my life.
Words of Encouragement from the Lord:
Psalm 27 verse 6 says, “And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.”
The word of God is real and full of life. We need to learn how to meditate on the word until it actually makes sense to the heart. Sometimes we pick and choose the fluffy verses that WE want to apply to our lives for our own self gratification when truly every part of the Bible keeps the Spirit strong.
It’s important to remember not to speak death to your body. Ignore the lies of the devil. Negative actions will always influence a bad decision.
Proverbs 25 verse 28 says, “Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.”
The bible tells us to pray without stopping because the devil is like a lion ready to kill us and swallow us whole. Don’t bow down to the devil’s lies anymore. This is exactly what he wants you to do. Once you agree with the enemy, he will continue to keep you focused on the pain and problems in your life. His goal is to keep you distracted with negativity; bringing you down and keeping you there.
Prayer is Your Protection:
The Bible says in 1Thessalonians 5 verse 17 says, “Pray continually (NIV), pray without ceasing (NKJV), never stop praying (NLT).”
This is so important! If you’re wondering if you need to pray 24 hours a day 7 days a week?” The answer is…Yes you do! Praying is a constant connection between you and God. The more you interact with Him, the closer your relationship grows. You will be blessed by God’s empowerment that will only happen when you grow your trust in Him. The Lord Jesus wants to have a relationship with you. Trust on Him for understanding and wisdom.
Philippians 4 verse 6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God; which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
So there it is, we need to pray! You see, the Lord Jesus wants to encourage us to pray with a heart of thanksgiving and give Him our requests by leaving it at the throne.
A peace will then come along with understanding. It is all a process. Looking back to my childhood, I am glad I went through trying times. All those fears, disappointments, etc. that I experienced, can be used to help others. Whatever we go through in life will never go wasted. The Lord uses the things in our lives to bless others and every tear will never go wasted.
Psalm 56 verse 8-9 says, “You number my wanderings; Put my tears into your bottle; Are they not in your book? When I cry out to you, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me.”
Psalm 25 verse 3 says, “Indeed, let no one who waits on you be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.”
Beloved, know that the Lord Jesus loves you and knows all your ways. Seek Him with all your heart. If it seems like there is no answer, keep waiting on Him. He is moving things around for your blessings to come forth and you may truly believe that.
God has big plans for you and me. He loves us so much that He even sent his one and only Son to prove it. No matter what you are going through right now, just remember it will pass and God will use your situation in a mighty way to bless others.
Love and Blessings, Patty
